Street Style: NYC Outerwear
I had a chance to go to New York City for purely social reasons (rather than school) a couple of Saturdays ago. I got tickets to Fusion, which is the annual Parsons vs. FIT fashion show competition (more on that later… Parsons won, btw.). My husband came with, and we met up with some of my classmates to discuss the competition.
Besides the interesting and out-there fashions on the runway, I noticed some really fun outerwear ensembles on our way from Grand Central to 7th Avenue.
What I Wore: a new take…
It's been a hectic few weeks, with multiple jobs, as well as wacko weather, prohibiting me from getting quality photos of my more stylish outfits. So I decided to go analogue, and do some quick sketches to record my style. Professional illustrator I am not, but I think you'll get the point.
Wore this to work at my new/old office job. It is really challenging for me to look neat and professional when it's 90 degrees out…
Danbury Street Style: Shannon on Main
They say necessity breeds creativity.
I swear, street people in Danbury are better dressed than most people who have a lot more resources. Just look at who is featured in my past street style photos.
Yesterday I met Shannon, a former paralegal, and thanked my lucky stars that I had my camera with me. She was gracious enough to let me take her picture as we crossed paths on Main Street.
Holy hats, Batman! The Millinery Exhibit at the Danbury Museum
Mega millinery is now up for viewing at the Danbury Museum. Read my preview here, with an interview with the guest curator.
And here's what folks were wearing at the exhibit opening this past Saturday, June 4:

19th Century women's shoes from the collection of the Mattatuck Museum
The documentary biography of renowned street-style photographer Bill Cunningham is playing at Bethel Cinema again this week. HIGHLY recommended if you are interested in fashion, photography, NY life, or just stories of interesting people.
The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury has an exhibit through September illustrating themes in interior decor and objects of daily life, including costumes and textiles.
The Danbury Museum will be opening a major exhibit of women's hats spanning 3 centuries, on Saturday, June 4. Look for my interview with the guest curator, this week at The Mercurial.
Street Style: Longwood Garden
Maybe it should be "Garden Path Style"?
Visited family outside Philadelphia this weekend, and we made a daytrip to Longwood Gardens, a former DuPont family estate.
Just loved this girl with her modern-South Asian style topped by a totally unexpected cowboy hat!
Street Style: Red 40
(Red 40 Lake was also a band in the '90s-'00s in central Connecticut, fronted by a former classmate of mine – anyone else heard of them or remember the glory days of Radio 104?)
This ice cream truck is so well-dressed, it has no idea.
My photo. Main Street, Danbury, 20 May 2011.
A.C. in NOLA!
Ahhhhh, New Orleans…
I had just a brief taste of the city in 2002, but it is under my skin, and I keep my eye out for any opportunity to go back– and I keep my eye out for pennies to buy my ticket.
At least my products can go further than I can.
Here's one of my zip pouches that made it to Jackson Square, New Orleans with customer Rebecca. Thanks for the photo!
Want to see more "Where's A.C.?" photos? Head to the Gallery. Better yet, send me your style photos if you are the proud owner of an Analogue Chic original or vintage piece! Trust me, it's worth it. ;)
Danbury Gents
From the Analogue Chic Street Style Spy Files…
If these first 2 shots look like surveillance photos… it’s because they kind of are. I was looking for inspiration one day at my studio, and spotted these fellows from my windows on the 2nd floor. Down with the mall! Up with fabulous, traditional manly accessories!
Here’s the always stylish Patrick and friends, visiting my pop up shop. You can’t miss Patrick downtown, and you can’t beat him at matching prints…
