Email Allie  at  AnalogueChic.com, or 860 . 712 . 4108

And don’t forget, the Mayor’s Ball is coming up, January 29!

Are you a Donna or a Janis?

Reference to a forthcoming book, and a quote from Mad Men…

Take the quiz! or not!

Pick your flyer, and come to my pop-up shop, this weekend, during Taste of Danbury, Danbury Day, and all the rest of the hoopla!

This is my homage to the punk-band flyers my friends made in high school: ballpoint pen + copy paper + clip art or zombie cartoon, and done.

Come on down!

Party like it’s 1909.

Celebrate the fabulous fashion of the racetracks, in historic downtown Danbury.

Dear friends, neighbors, and colleagues,

Please wear your hats, bring a blanket and your favorite picnic munchies, and meet us on the Ives St. Green, Danbury, on Saturday, May 1st, starting around noon-ish, ending whenever.

We’ll play croquet, enjoy the (hopefully) lovely weather in historic downtown Danbury, and generally make a spectacle of ourselves.

In case of rain, we will not meet.

We will also collect cash donations of any amount to benefit AIDS Project Greater Danbury.

Please be a good sport and wear a hat or costume, and bring a friend!  Hope to see you there!

Best wishes,
Allie and the Danbury Fashion Collective

Danbury Street Style

Not always an oxymoron.

It’s been a while since I have had the opportunity to record for posterity the jewels of Danbury street style.  If you thought it was scanty during the warm months, believe me, style is clearly taking a back seat to warmth at this time of year.

Luckily, there are a few sparks in the dark that I find at or around the train station, particularly among the gentlemen – and I can only assume that they spend most of their time in NYC.

This morning I met Reggie as we were waiting for the in-bound train.  As usually happens, the days that I decide to leave my camera at home are the days when I end up wanting it.  Hence the camera photo, which is really insufficient to express how great Reggie looked– sorry, friend, I’m not doing you justice here.

Really nice gray wool coat, classy Ralph Lauren satchel, burgundy cords, and very nice brown leather shoes.  Best of all:

As you can see from this super photograph, Reggie is wearing a paisley scarf, which is so subtle, unexpected, and perfect.

Thanks for being a good sport, Reggie!

20 West Gallery is open to the Danbury public!

The inaugural group show opening is TODAY from 3 to 6!  The group show will be up through November 14, Thursday through Sunday, 12-6.

You can see me in drag makeup and a vintage suit in their promotional photos – too much fun!  Hair and makeup by James Richardson, photos by Blair Rainey.

Please be sure to stop in to see the show, meet James and Auste, and participate in the next wave of community spirit in Danbury.

Local Color : Green

It’s cliché, but I’ll say it with sincerity: creating a healthy, beautiful, sustainable world starts with small, local gestures.  I’ll continue to highlight some actions I am taking to be green in my own life and business.  And I’m going to start, right now, by highlighting some fashion-related green events and businesses in the Danbury/Western Connecticut area.

1.) Just passing on the info:

Self-Health and Harmony Expo

Sunday, March 22, 2009 – 12-4 p.m.

At the Danbury Plaza Hotel, 18 Old Ridgebury Rd.

Admission $5.

Natural health, personal growth, spirituality.  More information, 203-746-4348.

2.) Salon review:

I had a strand test/consultation at Synergy Salon in New Canaan today.  As long as I don’t have a reaction to the dye, I’ll be returning this week for a cut and color.  Synergy uses herbal hair color, and also provides organic nail care—I’ll get the skinny and let you know about my experience later this week.

3.) Interesting woman-owned business:

Found a listing for what I would describe as a life-coach/holistic CPA!  I’m very curious—sounds like just the kind of accountant for a hippie-dippie/artist/small business owner…  I’ll try to arrange a consultation and report back here.
