All my ladies, single and otherwise
I wish you a fabulous and impactful International Women’s Day!
International Women’s Day is almost 100 years old! Check out the "official" site for the history of the event and to see how it is being commemorated around the world.
I will be celebrating by making a couple of Little Dresses for Africa, something that I will continue to do throughout the year, and hopefully get others involved, and perhaps find similar projects in other continents.
I will also be planning and researching to make women’s issues integral to my business as I forge ahead. This week, I applied to be a volunteer wardrobe consultant for clients of TBICO here in Danbury, which helps women achieve economic self-sufficiency.
I hope you take time out to express your support for the women in your life (including yourself!) and perhaps look for a way to contribute to helping women become equal members of society all around the world, especially in your neighborhood.

Local Color : Green
It’s cliché, but I’ll say it with sincerity: creating a healthy, beautiful, sustainable world starts with small, local gestures. I’ll continue to highlight some actions I am taking to be green in my own life and business. And I’m going to start, right now, by highlighting some fashion-related green events and businesses in the Danbury/Western Connecticut area.

I had a strand test/consultation at Synergy Salon in New Canaan today. As long as I don’t have a reaction to the dye, I’ll be returning this week for a cut and color. Synergy uses herbal hair color, and also provides organic nail care—I’ll get the skinny and let you know about my experience later this week.
Found a listing for what I would describe as a life-coach/holistic CPA! I’m very curious—sounds like just the kind of accountant for a hippie-dippie/artist/small business owner… I’ll try to arrange a consultation and report back here.
