What I Wore
June 8, 2012 in Fashion, Style, Sustainability, What I Wore
I wasn't going anywhere special on Monday. I had a headache, and the weather was rather dreary. But I came up with this outfit which I am obsessed with — to the point that I re-created it in 2 hand painted illustrations. Crazy fashion girl that I am.
Ink and gouache on drawing paper.
: my husband's straw fedora – bought in a pinch at the Asbury Park, NJ boardwalk
: black & white buffalo check shirt – J. Crew, thrifted
: floral-on-black shawl with fringe – vintage, in all its polyester glory, gifted by a friend
: black jeans – Tommy Hilfiger, thrifted
: white, eyelet cotton sneakers – Keds, which I managed to snag a couple of years ago from either Gilt or 6pm.com
: black tote bag
Style Lesson of the Day:
Try a completely glamorous, outrageous shawl instead of a cardigan or jacket.
For the win.
Gouache with ink and gel pen on watercolor paper; collage assembled on matte board.

I absolutely love your illustrations!!! So rad. Thanks for the info on the skate story in the H&M summer mag, going to check it out ASAP.
Gah! Thanks, Cindy!
Not sure if you can still find that edition in the stores, luckily the kids over at The Fashion Spot scanned the whole thing in from one of the European editions (Polish?). http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f78/h-m-magazine…
The skate story is the 3rd post down.
