I like big foots and I cannot lie…

(Why is it that headlines are such fertile ground for bad puns and awkward wordplay?! One can't help oneself…)

Good news from Payless ShoeSource today, for ladies with hard-to-find shoe sizes.

In Payless stores now, a wide range of popular styles for the Summer season are available in size 11, 12 and 13 and in wide width options at prices as low as just $15 a pair.

"Today, a growing percentage of women wear shoes beyond size 10 and Payless is here to serve this increasing need," said LuAnn Via, President and CEO of Payless. "We've been recognized for years as a retailer that carries hard-to-find sizes, and today we continue to serve this growing group of shoppers with an expanded assortment for the summer season featuring a range of wedges, flats, sandals and pumps."

The retailer boasts more than 150 styles in size 11, 12 and 13 and nearly 50 styles offered in wide widths options, including key wardrobe staples like the Kutzie peep-toe pump in nude and the Felix flat in cognac — both featuring knot details at the toe. Additional dress and career looks include the Christian Siriano for Payless La Bonita sandal in turquoise and nude; Brash styles including the Lunar, Komet and Jupiter, all featuring the trend-right platform sole; as well as the Jean mid-heel pump and the Kaytee wedge with is sculptural T-strap upper rendered in today's hottest hue — mustard yellow.

The variety of styles is rounded out with casual looks for Summer including the Avery bow flat in a variety of colors including striped and animal print treatments; the Westwood metallic flat sandal with its metallic cording detail; the Universe flat sandal with its hammered metallic embellishments; as well as athletic and canvas sneaker styles.

"At Payless, we believe women with hard-to-find shoe sizes shouldn't have to skimp on style, affordability or be inconvenienced when shopping for shoes. Our extended size footwear for women is available in stores across the nation and includes wardrobe essentials and popular silhouettes featuring the latest details and colors. Shoppers can count on us to deliver on this line season after season."

The majority of Payless women's Summer collection is offered in size 11, 12 and 13 and about 30% is offered in wide width options. The extended sizes are available in select stores and Payless.com and pricing starts at just $15.

When looking for hard-to-find sizes, the retailer suggests previewing availability on Payless.com.  From there, the customer can either use the new "In Stock Near You" feature to locate the desired style and size at a nearby Payless store, or simply order their shoe from payless.com and ship to the local Payless store for free.

Payless also has among the best return policies in the retail industry and will return items  for any reason.  For shoppers that have a receipt, Payless will gladly exchange the item for another of equal value or refund the purchase price.  For those without a receipt, a store credit is given.

Of course, Payless is the original fast fashion footwear retailer, known for crappy quality, etc etc. But it is oh so wallet friendly.

Make it planet-friendly!

  • Look for styles with natural fibers – cotton, linen, leather, natural rubber
  • Stick to the classics, and/or…
  • Buy what you L.O.V.E. – same as with classics, make sure you wear the heck out of it.
  • You can extend the life of the cheapest shoes by getting the soles re-treaded by a cobbler early on, and taking them in for cleaning and repairs as needed. Orthotics also help, if your feet aren't standard models.
