what i wore

Just tell me if you’re getting sick of outfit posts – I don’t have a lot of time for writing just now…

2 days ago, and today.

Vintage cotton dress, 1950’s, gold and cream woven stripes – thrifted about 10 years ago.  I can’t believe my tush still fits into this.  Sorry, no bullet bra.

Go-to gray wool cardigan.

Patent belt.

Black herringbone pattern tights – Target

Vintage charm bracelet – from a secondhand store on East Main St, Torrington, like, before I was in high school.  A looooong time ago.  There is a charm here from LaGuardia Airport.  Newer charms received as a gift from my friend Kryste.

Very period-authentic peep toe heels with ankle strap – from Spiegel, about 10 years ago. {I have to admit these are not the shoes I wore to work – my back has been twinging, I think from wearing heels too much, so I wore flats.}

Sorry, I’m a bit wrinkly here – I took these at the end of the day.

Just look at these style lines.  Brilliant.  I don’t think I’m going to wear this again, I’m afraid to rip it or stain it irrevocably, although it is in excellent condition.  I just want to preserve it and hang it on my wall or something… sigh…

And here’s today.

Chambray shirt – secret discount store I will not tell you about.

Vintage 70s cream kimono top dress with lace yoke.

Big old patent and elastic belt – from my old job, a Marshall’s-type chain.

Gray tights – Target

Heels comfortable and rugged enough to hike in – Tsubo Anush, I guess this colorway is not available anymore.

Pretty!

Red shoe or blue shoe?  Enter the Fashion Matrix.  I had a hard time deciding which shoes to wear (really, "bring to change into"), but went with the Tsubos. Best choice I think.

Definitely not sick of the outfit posts. I find them aspirational and inspirational. In fact, after dropping stuff off at Goodwill yesterday I went inside for the first time in a long time and found some great stuff! I wouldn’t have done that if you hadn’t got me thinking about it. And who knew there was such a thing as Goodwill Radio?!

Are those Tsubo shoes as comfortable as you (and they) claim? They are killer! And on sale! What’s the sizing like?

<3 the collar on the gold stripedy dress…actually like the stripedy dress despite its being gold lol. i like the outfits. and the posts. :O)

  • I’m so glad I inspired you to shop at Goodwill! Awesome!
I wear my Tsubos with Footpetals, so that definitely affects the fit. I have narrow feet, but with the Footpetals they fit really well – I think they would work well for narrow or medium width feet. The toe-box is plenty roomy, not tight like most heels, and the leather is really comfortable, not digging into the sides of my foot. I got mine through Zappo’s, which has a more generous return policy – not sure if they’re still available there…
